The Constitution

The Constitution and Its History

The Constitution is the governing document of the JCR, laying out a set of rules and procedures which are to be followed to ensure a fair student democracy is maintained. The Constitution is not designed to be read in one sitting and should be approached in sections. To assist JCR Members with this, please consult the “Guide to the Constitution”, which has many tips to help you quickly find what you need.

Read the latest Constitution here: Constitution (last updated 13/02/18).

For an editable version of the Constitution: Editable Constitution (last updated 13/02/18).

Read the Constitutional Amendments from previous years: 2018 (last updated 13/02/18), 2017, 201620152014201320122011.

The Constitution was completely overhauled in Trinity 2016, with this new version ratified. No further amendments were made in 2016. As such, the current Constitution differs only in the amendments ratified in 2017 and any further amendments made since.
