JCR Representatives 2011

 

Art Rep: Katie Slee 

Katie is in charge of the JCR's very impressive art collection. She endeavours to keep it in tip top condition and arranges for it to be loaned out to members of the JCR.


Charity/ RAG Reps: Fergus Butler-Gallie and Annie Coleridge

Fergus and Annie organise charity fundraising events in college. They also have to help organise the yearly charities ballot with the Returning Officer and to ensure the representation of chosen charities at specific termly events.

The Charities Reps also work in conjunction with OUSU and RAG to help their broader fundraising aims. They attend special meetings run for charities reps and collect resources.


Computer Rep

The Computer Rep is responsible for overseeing some of the management and development of the JCR website alongside the JCR Secretary. They are also available to assist JCR members with technical computer problems, and liaise with the JCR Academic Facilities Rep to ensure the smooth running of the computer room. The Computer Rep operates the JCR computer spares lending scheme.

Academic Facilities Rep: Annabel Barratt

Annabel is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all academic facilities used by the JCR members, including photocopiers, printers, and the computer room.


Bike
Rep: Duncan Edwards

Duncan's job is to attend to the needs of the bikes of St John's.  Got a problem? Give him a call.


DVD Rep: Anahit Behrooz

Anahit is in charge of managing the JCR DVD collection. She is responsible for coordinating all lendings and purchasing of new DVDs. She also has the thankless task of chasing late fees!


Disabilities Action Rep: Laura Bunce

Laura is responsible for the promotion of disability issues within College and for disabilities action campaigns. She works closely with the Welfare & Equal Opportunities Officer (Male) and the Welfare & Equal Opportunities Officer (Female) to increase awareness of disability issues, including access, and to promote applications from disabled people. She also attends OUSU Disabilities Action Committee.



Ethnic Minorities Rep: Robbie Penman

Robbie is responsible for the promotion of ethnic minorities issues within College and for ethnic minorities campaigns. He works closely with the Welfare & Equal Opportunities Officer (Male) and the Welfare & Equal Opportunities Officer (Female) to increase awareness of ethnic minorities issues, including racism, and to promote applications from ethnic minorities. He also attends OUSU Anti-Racism Committee and Access Joint Council.


International Students Reps: Alex Kühl and Grace Attwell

Alex and Grace are responsible for ensuring that internationals have no problems settling in when they first come to St John's.  They'll help with setting up bank accounts, sorting out phone contracts, and generally being on hand to make sure no one has any trouble.


LGBTQ Reps: Alex Harvey and Holly Roberts

Alex and Holly look after the welfare of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered members of college.  They hold events, which all can attend, including film nights and formal swaps.


Returning Officer: Thomas Preston

Tom is responsible for the conduct of all elections and referenda. This one is for anyone interested in constitutions, elections and rules.


PRAT: Jonny Bradford

Jonny is responsible for the provision of refreshments and toys at JCR General Meetings. Essentially, he buys food for fun! At the end of each term the toys the PRAT buys are donated to a children's charity and at the end of each meeting the food is donated to hungry members of the JCR!
