Choir

St John's has a choir that performs regularly during the week and at other special occasions.

St John’s Chapel Choir is one of the finest mixed-voice choirs in Oxford, consisting of an auditioned group of both undergraduates and graduates, from St John’s and elsewhere. During term time, the choir meets three times a week to sing two evensongs, with the added bonus of a welcoming and friendly time for tea and cake before rehearsals. The Choir covers a wide range of repertoire, with a focus on both early and contemporary composers. Choir members are paid a small amount per service, receive free formal dinner on Sundays, and go on tours.

If you are interested in auditioning, please contact the choir director, David Bannister, at [email protected].
