St John’s Chapel Choir is one of the finest mixed-voice choirs in Oxford, consisting of an auditioned group of both undergraduates and graduates, from St John’s and elsewhere. During term time, the choir meets three times a week to sing two evensongs, with the added bonus of a welcoming and friendly time for tea and cake before rehearsals. The Choir covers a wide range of repertoire, with a focus on both early and contemporary composers. Choir members are paid a small amount per service, receive free formal dinner on Sundays, and are going on tour in summer of 2020 to St Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna.
If you are interested in auditioning, please contact the choir director, David Bannister, at choir.director[at]sjc.ox.ac.uk.
