Rooms can be booked via the Room Celendar on the College Intranet. Use the calendar to check room availability and make provisional bookings. You should also inform the Lodge/Events team of your provisional booking. Booking requests are sent to Junior Deans for approval. You will then be informed if the event can go ahead or not. If you require catering/AV, wait for your decanal request to be approved, and then contact the Events team. NB: this document about event planning produced by college may be useful

Printing in College is free. Instructions are on the College website.

JCR Matters

According to the JCR Constitution, “all undergraduates at St John’s College, Oxford are automatically full ordinary members” unless they opt-out. In accordance with precedent, this has also been taken to include those students in their 4th year of a 3+ year degree, given they had been eligible for membership of the JCR in the year prior.

The JCR relies on volunteers, and to protect the privacy of those that stand for certain Equality & Diversity Rep positions, we password protect areas of our site where they may contain information that these volunteers might not wish to share beyond the JCR.

You can receive money for a venture in College by filling out a Financial Motion form and submitting it to the Secretary (contact details in Your Committee). A link to templates can be found in the Pinned Post on the JCR Facebook page.

You can receive money for a charity of your choice by filling out a Charities Motion form and submitting it to the Secretary (contact details in Your Committee). A link to templates can be found in the Pinned Post on the JCR Facebook page. This can only be passed in the 2nd JCR meeting of each term.

There are typically 4 JCR meetings per term, which will always be indicated on the termcard. Look out for emails from the JCR Secretary for further details.
